German Joomla community has its own Radio now. We have put much effort into our idea to present a Comunity Radio
to the German Joomla Community. Last weekend we had a very successful
test lounge and it was greatly accepted by the whole community.
We will have our Great lounge on the first weekend of October, if
all runs well. We will anounce the exact time on our Website joomla-radio.de.

Joomla's newest addition to the Core Development team, Marko Schmuck, is a recognised leader in Open Source Software. Marko, who lives in Berlin, Germany, is known for his work as a former core member at XOOPS. He was responsible for dev.xoops.org, the XOOPS Forge. He also had his own open source project called RCP (Reseller Control Panel). Marko will be a Joomla project leader, creating Standards and Guidelines for Third Party Developers (3PDs). Marko hopes his involvement with Joomla! will raise the level of code standards and help developers improve their skills. |

After what can only be described as a fantastic voter turn out (more
than many countries get in their national elections) you, the members of
Joomla! have selected a new logo.
Joomla 01 was designed by Alan Urquhart
Alan is currently assisting in final tweaks and is even going to the extent of
producing a brand guide for the logo's usage. Hence the final version of
the logo is not quite ready for public display, but will be launched as
soon as possible. |

Joomla! 1.0.1 [Sunburst] is now available on the forge for download here.
This is a Stability Release, which means it does not have any new features, it only contains fixes, to bugs discovered in the 1.0.0 release.
1.0.1 is available as a Full distribution, which contains all Joomla! files and a Patch distribution which contains only the files that have been changed by the Stability work conducted.
Upgrade Instructions
To update from Joomla! 1.0.0, all you have to do is simply overwrite
your files with either the Full Package distribution, or the Patch
Package distribution. |

This will be a Stability Release, which means it will not have any new features, it will only contain fixes, to bugs discovered in the 1.0.0 release.
This release has as its primary objective 'Stability' - hence the term Stability Release.

Joomla! has been shortlisted for the award for "Best Linux/Open Source Application" in the UK Linux & Open Source Awards 2005.
Thanks to everyone who voted for Joomla! and we hope to have some
good news when the results are announced at a Gala Dinner on the 5th
October.

OSM has taken their final stable version of Mambo (4.5.2.3), given it a
spring clean and named it Joomla! 1.0 In addition, several small
features that were going to be released in Joomla! 1.1 have been
brought forward and included in this release. |
