| iJoomla Search & Archive Finds New Life In Old Content |

For Joomla publishers though, that could all be about to change. iJoomla's Search & Archive component lets users dig through a site's vintage posts, and lets publisher earn more from their content. "Until now, it hasn't been easy for users of Joomla sites to find previous articles," explains Merav Knafo, founder of iJoomla.com and designer of iJoomla's new component. "We thought that was a waste of good content, so when our Magazine and News Portal customers asked if we had a search or an archive extension, we knew what to do." iJoomla's Search & Archive packs two functions into one extension. Users are able to search the site from an advanced search page and publishers can also offer an easy-to-browse archive page in which articles can be listed by author, time published, section and category, and with iJoomla Magazine, magazine and issue. Both functions are fully customizable. Although Joomla does offer a standard search feature, iJoomla Search & Archive takes that functionality several steps further. Users can now search for whole words only, exclude terms and restrict searches to specific sections, categories, dates or authors. Results can include thumbnails of articles, word counts and links to more articles from the same section, category or author. "We really wanted to make it as easy as possible for users to find what they're looking for -- and for publishers to get more out of their content," says Merav. For more information click here. Content is king, we're told... and yet we have to crown a new monarch every day. Sites that aren't regularly updated and constantly renewed find it hard to attract users and build an audience. So publishers post regularly, users keep coming... and old content disappears into the dark corners of a website never to be seen again.
