Question: I would like to modify the maintenance page. Where shoul I look?

Question: I am using a vanilla 1.08 Joomla. I notice 2 categories are shown as locked, no matter who I sign in as. I have tried setting checked_out to zero in the back end, but it makes no difference. I can edit these categories as Admin, but I would like to remove the locks.

Question: how does a user with tne auth level of "author" submit his content to an editor/publisher in Joomla?

Answer: Once logged in and selecting your news menu, an author will see a "New" tag above the selection of the news categories for your existing articles that will take them to the editor and allow them to write their news.

Question: How do I open an External Page inside Joomla! ?

Answer: backend -> menu -> mainmenu -> new -> under miscellaneous select wrapper -> enter your url, add a name for the menu item -> select appropriate parameters on the right hand side->save
