Question: I am using a vanilla 1.08 Joomla. I notice 2 categories are shown as locked, no matter who I sign in as. I have tried setting checked_out to zero in the back end, but it makes no difference. I can edit these categories as Admin, but I would like to remove the locks.

Answer: go to the administrator backend: System --> Globak Checkin. This should get rid of all locks for you.
