Hindi/Devnagari Language Pack for Joomla! released

It gives me immense pleasure to share with you all that Hindi/Devnagari Language pack is now available for Joomla! 1.0.4.

After a long wait, here comes the Hindi/Devanagari language pack for Joomla!. This makes Joomla! the first Content Management System that has Hindi/Devanagari language pack available. There is no other out-of-the box solution available for Hindi/Devanagari CMS. The demo installation of the IndicJoomla! can be viewed at http://demo.indicjoomla.org. At indicjoomla.org, you can download the IndicJoomla! distribution of the world famous Joomla! CMS. It has the Hindi/Devanagari language pack in it and it defaults to hindi language. If you already have a Joomla! installation, you want to download just the Hindi/Devanagari langauge pack, from

This also opens the pandoras box for all other languages out there in the South Asian region. I would also take this opportunity to call upon help with translation and adding more South Asian Languages to the IndicJoomla! project. Languages like Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and so on can be now added very easily to the IndicJoomla! project.

I know this is not the end but beginning of a new era in website development in the Indic community. There is a lot to be done. So, please keep checked in.
