Lates News Extended is a modified version of the core mod_latestnews which incorporates content display ability from core's mod_newsflash.

New customisable features include display:
1) Intro text (limited chars or full),
2) Created date,
3) Read more link.

Also the formatting of news articles is no longer in bullet format but rather similar to vertical display mode of newsflash. Maybe in next version this could be made customisable (ie vertical or horizontal).
