This module is used to search for registered and non-registered domainnames. This module checks if nameservers exist for a given domain. Since most, if not all, registered domains require a nameserver to exist, this module does what it's supposed to do: check if a domainname is registrerd or not.

The module (the sourcecode) is easily modified to include multiple extensions and even linked to orderforms (see www.045hosting.nl for a working example)
