The BMW Motorcycle Club of Queensland has launched a community based web site using Joomla!

Based upon Community Builder the site includes components such as; Phpicalendar, Noah Classifieds, Gallery 2, VirtueMart and SMF Forum to provide its 650+ members with an excellent tool for collaboration and magement of its day-to-day activities.

Built on a basic template provided by wwt4.com, the site enjoyed over 300 visitors per day within weeks of going live without any slow-down or problems of any kind.

"Joomla! is truly the best open source CMS available today" says Gordon Wright, web manager and developer. "We are currently implementing a ride management system based on Google Maps and also providing a customized front-end to the database so all our administrative tasks can be streamlined for all the committee members" he added.

Although the site is for a motorcycle club, the concept can be easily adapted to the management of any type of club or organisation.
