Joomla! 1.0.2 Stability Release
Joomla! 1.0.2 [Sunset] is now available on the forge for download here.

This is a Stability Release, which means it does not have any new features, it only contains fixes, to bugs discovered in the 1.0.1 release.

1.0.2 is available as a Full Package, which contains all Joomla! files and a Patch Package which contains only the files that have been changed by the Stability work conducted.

Robin Muilwijk Joins Development Team

The Joomla core team has a new member who will be a key player in ensuring code stability.

Robin Muilwijk, who hails from The Netherlands, will be joining the Stability Team under the umbrella of the Quality
Assurance Testing Workgroup.

The appointment of Robin, who is a change management expert, will further the Joomla project's future by creating the best releases possible for the greater community

Joomla! Brand Guide & Logo Usage

Thanks to Alan, the creator of the Joomla! logo, a Brand Guide is now available. There are also a variety of  logos that you can use, available in multiple graphic formats for you to downlad. More will be added to over time.

The Brand Guide contains a number of important design points and it is important that you review this guide before creating any graphics of your own that incorporate the Joomla! logo.

Radio for German Joomla community
German Joomla community has its own Radio now. We have put much effort into our idea to present a Comunity Radio to the German Joomla Community. Last weekend we had a very successful test lounge and it was greatly accepted by the whole community.

We will have our Great lounge on the first weekend of October, if all runs well. We will anounce the exact time on our Website joomla-radio.de.

3PD Expert Joins Joomla!

Joomla's newest addition to the Core Development team, Marko Schmuck, is a recognised leader in Open Source Software.

Marko, who lives in Berlin, Germany, is known for his work as a former core member at XOOPS. He was responsible for dev.xoops.org, the XOOPS Forge. He also had his own open source project called RCP (Reseller Control Panel).

Marko will be a Joomla project leader, creating Standards and Guidelines for Third Party Developers (3PDs). Marko hopes his involvement with Joomla! will raise the level of code standards and help developers improve their skills.

New Logo for Joomla
After what can only be described as a fantastic voter turn out (more than many countries get in their national elections) you, the members of Joomla! have selected a new logo.

Joomla 01 was designed by Alan Urquhart

Alan is currently assisting in final tweaks and is even going to the extent of producing a brand guide for the logo's usage. Hence the final version of the logo is not quite ready for public display, but will be launched as soon as possible.

1.0.1 is available as a Full distribution, which contains all Joomla! files and a Patch distribution which contains only the files that have been changed by the Stability work conducted.

Upgrade Instructions
To update from Joomla! 1.0.0, all you have to do is simply overwrite your files with either the Full Package distribution, or the Patch Package distribution.
